The Amaroo Team has a lot to do, and that is important, but equally important is how it gets done.
To support our Values of Collaboration, Kindness, Clarity = Enjoyment, the Amaroo Team has devised the following Team Agreements:

What is Bullying and Harassment?

Bullying and Harassment are behaviours that any reasonable person would say are intended to cause psychological, social, or physical harm.

These behaviours may happen once only or be repeated and may be directed at either groups or individuals. They usually want to make the person feel less powerful or helpless. 

While bullying behaviour can be generally defined as a misuse of power, harassment will target inherent difference such as gender, race, social demographic, sexual orientation.

What does Bullying and Harassment look and feel like?

There are many ways someone can bully or harass another person. Here are a few examples.

What can we do about it?

Together we can ensure that bullying and harassment have no place at Amaroo. 

  • We can be clear on our own role and how that fits in our team.
  • We can ensure we are rested and do only what is comfortable. 
  • We can act with Kindness, Clarity, and Collaboration as much as possible.

If we see Bullying or Harassment happening we can approach that person or ask our supervisor to do so. 

If the supervisor is unable to help we can notify the Volunteer Support Team.
